Prize #1: 2 Winners get a paperback of Revelation by Bobbi Gentry Goodwin
Synopsis
Social workers often reminisce about their first time “freezing”—the dreaded stillness from emotions so strong that they take the body hostage. Angela Lovelace is a well-trained social worker: she has been working for Child Protective Services in San Francisco for nearly five years and has never frozen, never had a sleepless night. But after she sees her father’s tattered picture on the apartment wall of a little boy whose addict mother just died, she must learn how to overcome the numbness—and sets out to uncover the truth.
While Angela conducts her investigation, she finds her family and personal life spiraling down into brokenness; as she peels away layer after layer of secrets, her brother navigates the ravages of substance abuse, and her sister struggles with infertility. The Lovelace family must look to their faith in God and each other to discover their own resilience and put the pieces of their splintered lives back together again.
Told from multiple perspectives across generations, Revelation explores how untreated mental illness and family secrets ricochet and can impact each and every family member—and the importance of perseverance, love, and hope.

Prize #3: 2 Winners get a paperback of Across the Divide by S.M. Dave

Synopsis
Summit View, a small town located in Northern California is about to receive a rude awakening! Fed up with the world’s cruel influences, citizens of Summit View create the ultimate way to protect their children: separate them, the boys from the girls and the city from everyone else. The Decision, a pact made by Mayor Tolbert and the citizens of Summit View inspired the formation of a secret society, Dividere; where the town’s children have been in exile and separated. Although exiled in privilege, these youths have been denied the things they crave most: a life with their families, interaction with the opposite sex and freedom outside of the city. Frustrated with their containment, these society students are out to take back their freedom. Now the town’s grand decision turns out to be the worst decision of all. Revoked of their citizenship due to their age, Joshua and Havanna have returned and are hell-bent on taking back what was taken from them. The two form an alliance having one culprit in mind: Mayor Tolbert. During their quest for vengeance, they discover life-altering lies, heart-breaking truths and an unanticipated, yet absolutely compelling romance. Nya and Elisha are both students inside Summit View’s secret society and like the other students they feel more like captives. With only one week until graduation and their release from their privileged hell, the two break the one rule that could cost them everything. Will the logic-defying love they find in one another be worth the risk or will it end up in flames like the city itself?
Meet the Author

For years I’ve enjoyed other writer’s work; marveled at their dedication and discipline to write such captivating stories. Yet never once did I think I had the capacity to do the same, much less possess a talent for it. Born and raised in Detroit Michigan where I still reside, I’ve always known there was much more that I wanted to do and I knew that I needed a college education to do it. So, I went to college obtaining an Associates in Science as well as a Bachelors in Public Health from the University of Michigan. Yet, like many writers my discovered passion is a far cry from my obtained degrees. My passion for writing came as an unexpected yet unrelenting surprise. One Saturday morning while lying in bed, thinking up scenarios (as I usually do). This particular scenario took on a life of its own, playing in full detail in my mind like a movie. But this was no movie. This was my imagination, this was my gift manifesting itself to me! That day, I got out of bed and started writing and I’ve been in love with it ever since. Five years later, Across the Divide is finished and published.
