Nominations Are Open: August 2025 Monthly Book Selection -Best Man

The summer reading continues! As we enjoy our July selection, it’s already time to look ahead. Nominations for our August 2025 Monthly Book Selection are officially OPEN!

For August, we’re celebrating the theme of Best Man. This is our chance to uplift and explore the vast literary landscape created by Black male authors. From fiction to non-fiction, sci-fi to historical, thriller to romance—any genre, any story, as long as a talented Black man wrote it, is welcome.

Here’s how to nominate:

  • Nomination Period: Monday, July 7th, 2025 – Sunday, July 13th, 2025.
  • Theme: Best Man – any book by a Black male author.
  • How to Nominate: Please leave a comment below with the title and author of the ONE book you are nominating.

The Rules (You know the drill!):

  1. One nomination per member.
  2. The book must fit the theme: For August, it must be written by a Black male author.
  3. Check the “Library” tab: To keep our reading journey fresh, please glance at our list of previously read books before nominating to avoid repeats.
  4. No self-published books.
  5. Ebooks and physical format must be available.
  6. Only book #1 in a series is allowed.

What’s Next?

Once nominations close on the evening of July 13th, we will gather all the incredible suggestions. Voting will kick off the following day, Monday, July 14th, 2025, and will be open for one week.
