Hosted by Dewey’s 4 Hour Read-a-Thon
It’s here! It’s here! Sign-ups are here!
I am so excited to tell you Dewey’s 24 Hour Read A Thon is coming!
On April 28th the Challenge of reading ALL DAY long starts. During the bi-annual read-a-thon we will read books, post to our blogs, Facebook and Twitter about our reading, and visit other readers’ blogs. We will also participate in mini-challenges throughout the day to win prizes. (I love that part!) This event happens twice a year, in April and in October. It was created by Dewey. The first one was held in October 2007. Dewey died in late 2008. The read-a-thon was renamed to honor its founder in 2009.
On April 28, 2018 the Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-A-Thon will start at 5am for Los Angeles. If you want to learn more or sign up, click on the links or the button above. There is no money involved and it’s purely for the love of reading.
If this is your first time, go to Mocha Girl Alexis’s blog Reflections of a Bookaholic after you sign up to get a few helpful tips. I hope you all will be able to participate and join the fun. And ladies remember to have plenty of water and snacks. Oh by the way, you can read anything!
Here is a simple-to-read time zone list.
Are you going to join the Read A Thon? What is on your reading list for the day?
I think for this Read-a-Thon I’ll be (trying to) read:
Audiobook – Shadowhouse Fall by Daniel Jose Older
I am at 50% in on this one. I love having audiobooks playing while I’m doing dishes and stuff.
Graphic Novel – Kindred by Octavia Butler
I bought this awhile ago and I have it on my shelf collecting dust. I think I will knock it out for sure. I loved the book so much this will be easy.
Paperback – Breakthrough to Vision’s Destiny by LaWanda C. Jackson
There was a book signing at church for this one. I bought a copy and thought since it was a thin book I could knock it out for the read-a-thon as well.
Paperback – Hidden Blessings by Kim Cash Tate
Again, a book that has been on my shelf collecting dust. I can’t even tell you how long ago I got it but I think now is a good time to crack it open.
