Books are a thing of beauty. Not only can they transport you to another place and time or teach you more about yourself and the world than you ever thought possible, but they are also very tactile, colorful, and ripe for brightening up your home.
If you’re a serious bookwork, you probably have a whole heap of books catered around your home, so why not do something cute with them? That way, you can admire them as part of the decor until you’re ready to revisit the words inside once more.
With that in mind, here are some very simple, and very cute, ways to decorate with your books:
Create a rainbow
One of the easiest ways to turn your books into a design feature is to color-code them on the bookshelves. If you have a lot of books, this may take you some time, but pull them all down and arrange them into color spectrum order before putting them back on the shelves. This will make for an amazing feature wall space. Of course, it may make it a bit more difficult for you to find the book you’re looking for so you may want to make of each book as you go along! Buy beautiful book sets
These days, publishers are always looking for new ways to sell more books, particularly the classics, to a new audience, which is why the decorative book set is now a thing. These books not only contain some of the greatest works ever written, but they also have some of the prettiest covers you’ve ever seen. If you buy these book sets, you can store them together in a stack with a vase on top or place them under a fruit bowl or whatever, and they will look amazing, while always being near to hand should you feel like doing a little reading.
Floating shelves
Floating shelving units are the greatest for displaying your books because the books really take center stage, being all you can see on the wall. Place them not only in the center of the wall where you would usually put a shelf, but above doorway entries, around windows, and anywhere else you can think of that will surprise people, and you’ll have one of the best bibliophile homes around.
Ditch the bookcase
Bookcases are the traditional option for storing and displaying your books, but if you aren’t exactly a traditional gal, you might want to do something else instead. Why not store your books in a classic little red wagon or maybe a hygge-inspired wicker basket instead. Heck, the dutch often store books in the oven, but that’s probably a bit inconvenient, and hardly decorative, so you might want to miss that one out, then again, if you need more book space, it could be a godsend.
Your books are beautiful, so what not make more out of them by finding more unique ways to show them off around your home.
