Prize #1
Ebook of The Yard Girl by Eugenie Laverne Mitchell
Sienna Miller has known grave hardship. Growing up in the small seaside Jamaican village, her family, although highly revered for their noted integrity and wisdom spanning generations, were piteously poor, often relying upon meager handouts from “just about better off” neighbors to survive. When she turned 17 heaven smiled upon her and she won a scholarship to study in London. Soon she finds herself all alone in a foreign land, living in a big city where she faces serious danger. Through adversity, she comes to rely upon newfound friends who become more like a surrogate family. But unbeknown to Sienna her friends harbor secrets and some have secrets so dark that they are better left un-shared.
About the Author

Eugenie Laverne Mitchell writes from the heart and mainly from a Christian perspective. The tales she skillfully weaves spring from a fertile imagination but are often colored by some vaguely similar life observations. She was motivated to write novels, in order to convey messages of hope, grace, truth and love, which some might refer to as Gospel truths in fiction form. Eugenie writes with purpose and hopes that her work will in some way be a positive influence upon readers.

Prize #2
2 Winners will get an Unwritten T-shirt from August Gill Apparel. (T-shirt titled unwritten. A homage to some of the legends.)

August Gill Apparel was founded in 2020 by Rannette Archer amid a pandemic and racial unrest. With a need to rediscover who she is as her true self, Archer found she had been muting her authentic voice and masking who she is as a Black woman, a daughter of a Belizean immigrant, an Eastside Detroit native, a mother, and a wife.
Initially crafting messages to wear as a cue to have the courage to speak up in her own way and to confidently be her true self, Archer found she was having more conversations about her story. In doing so, others were requesting shirts of their own, and August Gill Apparel was MADE.
Augustus, Archer’s father who became a citizen after immigrating from Belize, means “magnificent.” The August Gill name is a mashup in representation of Archer’s maternal and paternal lineage, and a tribute to the one-of-a-kind background that makes up who she is, and who she will become.
August Gill Apparel is a company with a mission to inspire conversation through self-empowerment, finding your voice, and being unapologetically heard.
