OLE! OLE!! OLEE!! This is the best event EVEERR! I love Bloggiesta! This was the most (non-paid) productive weekend. Ok let me back up a bit! Friday I joined an online event called Bloggiesta. Here is the basic outline of Bloggiesta! From March 30, 2012 to April 1, 2012 bloggers commit to completely finishing their Blogging To Do List. And like all great blogging events there are mini-challenge giveaways and tons of Tweeting. All of this was hosted by Suey @ It’s All About Books.
Why am I over the moon about sending 3 days blog fixin’? Well for one, I have been putting off so launching the book club site because the To Do List was so overwhelming. Even though Bloggiesta is over I still have a few things to finish up but the new site is launched. Check it out at Mocha Girls Read!
So how did I spend my 3 days.
So here is the list of things I did on Day 1: (of course in no particular order)
1. Added the FTC policy to the bottom of my blog.
2. Completed a mini-challenge with Katie’s Book Blog (@katiesbookblog) and hooked up my Blogger account to Twitter.
3. Exported all the files from the Mocha Girls Read site to the this new Mocha Girls Read site. Just trying to figure out how to get the comments into Disqus.com
4. Updated all the pages on the new Mocha Girls Read site
5. Updated and fixed all the buttons on the new Mocha Girls Read site
6. Completed a mini challenge with Sheila’s from Book Journey (@bookjourney).
7. Found out and left my info on Fyrefly so I can be added to her search. Thanks to April from Good Books and Good Wine (@booksandwine). This will be really helpful with the Mocha Girls Read site too.
8. Joined the Twitter party at #bloggiesta.
8. Joined the Twitter party at #bloggiesta.
9. Met (virtually) some great bloggers and reconnected with a few from the past.
And here is my list of things I did on Day 2:
1. Completed my weekly post. (Just need to add the linky’s later)
2. Completed all my book reviews for the month of April (this was not on my original list but I was in the groove. By the way, I only post reviews on Monday so that was only 5 books)
3. Added a copyright to my blog. (You can see it at the bottom of the page)
4. Created a blogroll in the side bar. (I decided to use a list instead of buttons so the page will load faster)
5. Cleaned up the side bar.
6. Added Mocha Girls Read button to side bar.
7. Cleaned up my Picasa album for my blog.
8. Updated my Challenge Page
9. Updated my old reviews to the new review format. (There were only 5 of them)
10. Found a new comment server for the Mocha Girls Read site and installed it.
11. Tweeted a lot with fellow Bloggers
12. Cleaned up the email box for the book club.
Last but not least Day 3:
1. Removed Disqus and installed LiveFyre onto the Mocha Girls Read site. (It was not working for some reason.)
2. Labeled some more post. (Still an ongoing issue)
3. Redirected the old site to the new site.
4. Launched new site. If you are here then you know for sure I did this! 🙂
5. Updated the Review Policy page.
6. Tweeted a ton!
7. Completed a mini- challenge Jessica from The Bluestocking Society (@thebluestocking) teaches us Five Ways to Make Your Reviews Stand Out.
I still have a few things to fix on the Mocha Girls Read site but overall I am close enough to give myself a break. Thank you so much to Suey for getting my motivation back on track! And for hosting a wonder event.
