What are we doing?
Have you thought about Bellydance and wanted to try it? Want to do a different kind of fun workout? Love dancing and just need to do more of it?
Bellydance Workshop: This Sunday’s workshop will cover a range of ‘belly dance’ basics; movements that are considered foundational in several different regional styles. You will learn shimmy, Egyptian step, snake arms, hip lifts, circles, and 8’s, as well as undulations. Then we will take our movements and apply them to music, in a simple and fun choreography! This will be welcoming to all dance levels. Like with our other classes this will be our safe-space time and go at your own pace.
Who is Jen?
I began belly dancing in the Summer of 2000. I was looking for a fun way to get in shape and recover from a knee replacement surgery from the year before. Not only did I eventually lose over 50lbs., but I also found my heart and soul. This dance has been such a gift; from the amazing women, I have had the joy to connect with, to the blessings of self-esteem and self-realization.
Currently, I direct an advanced student performance troupe, Crescent Rose Dance Collective. I do my best to create a positive and nurturing environment for my students to express their joy & passion.
Donation-based classes are currently available through Facebook Live in a private group organized by Jen. Classes include all levels of FatChance BellyDance Style (formally known as American Tribal Style) and a variety belly dance style hour. – Mondays and Wednesdays. All are welcome to join! Contact Jen McDonald on Facebook or email ATSJen13@gmail.com for more information.
