What are we doing?
The African American Literary Awards Show (AALAS) is an annual event that celebrates and honors the outstanding achievements and contributions of African-American authors and writers. The Publishing Industry, as well as, the Arts and Entertainment community recognizes the importance of this event and are constant supporters in the efforts of the AALAS.
The African American Literary Awards Show (AALAS) is widely considered one of the nation’s most-anticipated cultural literary events by authors and book lovers alike (www.literaryawardshow.com). AALAS will recognize and award African-American authors in over 20 literature categories. Past winners, presenters, and attendees include Isaiah Washington, Hill Harper, Dr. Cornel West, Sonia Sanchez, Michael Eric Dyson, G. Garvin, Eric Jerome Dickey, Sherri Shepherd, Walter Mosley, NAS, ReShonda Tate Billingsley, Victoria Christopher Murray, and many other talented authors and luminaries.
The 16th Annual African American Literary Awards Show will happen on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 7:30 pm. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the awards show will be held virtually this year on Facebook Live via Zoom. This year we would like to inform you of the following information:
